District 9

Okay, okay, I know I said my next post would cover abortion, but I am waiting a few more days to get some more poll votes [so if you have not voted, go vote on the right side of my page]

So, last night I watch District 9 against my will. (My boyfriend wanted to watch it). I went into the movie thinking I would hate it because it involves aliens. Now, a few days ago I was speaking with my video teacher who had just rented this movie the other night. He said he loved the movie because of the way the portrayed the story.

While my teachers opinion rattled in my head, I just could not see the greatness in this film. Then, about half way through, the story caught me. When the man who became infected and the alien started to work together; I thought it was the most unique thing ever. Normally alien movies are the typical: aliens come to earth, people run away, people are scared, and then they leave. In this movie, the aliens were actually accepted in society for the first 20 years, then people wanted them to be evicted.

I was never one for alien movies, I'm still not a fan of District 9 itself. I just liked the idea that the story line was different and that both human and alien worked together. Now, has anyone seen this movie? Did anyone think the ending ended abruptly? It just ended. I wanted it to keep going, show me what happens. I mean, it shows me that the man becomes completely alien, but will he ever be helped in the future? Will he ever see his wife again?

Goodness, alien movies.

WARNING: Do not watch if you hate graphic or bloody movies. (Almost puked at one point).
